Spinal Decompression Therapy

If you have lasting back pain and other related symptoms, then you know how disruptive to your life it can be. Back pain interferes with work, sleep, and relaxation as well. Luckily, there is a solution. Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive, effective treatment for chronic and acute low-back pain sufferers. Spinal decompression therapy involves stretching the spine, using a traction table or similar motorized device, with the goal of relieving back pain and/or leg pain. At Traxler Chiropractic, one of our doctors can provide patients with relief and recuperation and leave them feeling their ultimate best.
During spinal decompression therapy for the low back, patients remain clothed and lie on a motorized table, the lower half of which can move. A harness is placed around the hips and is attached to the lower table near the feet. The upper part of the table remains in a fixed position while the lower part, to which the patient is harnessed, slides back and forth to provide the traction and relaxation. The table is controlled by a computer operated by one of our doctors, customizing treatment to your specific needs. The pain is relieved by moving areas of herniated disk back into place by the creation of negative pressure to draw disc material back into the disc space and relieve pressure. Decompression allows for strengthening of the outer ligament bands that hold the disc material in place and which become weak and stretched during the bulging effect.
If you suffer from back pain, neck pain, or any other spine maladies, then spinal decompression therapy may be the right treatment for you.
